From Local Gigs to Performing at Music Day Out: How *SCAPE Kickstarted Zidane and His Band’s Journey
Tell us about yourself and what inspired your passion in this field?
Zidane: What inspired me to play music and form a band in general was because of my father. One day, he was playing some Spanish song on his guitar, and I just had that sudden urge to learn the guitar. I picked up a guitar and never put it down.
Can you tell us more about your experience as a performer in Music Day Out?
Zidane: My role in the band is rhythm guitar, so I have the easier part of the job compared to my other guitarist Ariq, who does crazy stuff on it. But what I think was memorable was when the judges were going to choose the winner, they all said really nice things about the band and Mr RK made some jokes. I think even just performing in the Battle of the Bands was truly unforgettable.
How was your experience working with *Scape?
Zidane: *Scape helped us by giving us a spot at Music Day Out 2024 because from there, we had a chance to show our music to a bigger audience. I think it helped to kickstart the band’s journey and we are forever grateful for that chance.
What was your biggest takeaway?
Zidane: My biggest takeaway was performing in front of a big crowd. It was so amazing seeing so many people listening to the music that I created. It was something that I used to dream about when I started.
What advice would you give to young people who are looking to pursue their passions and turn their ideas into reality?
Zidane: Don’t let others put you or what you want to create down, because their opinions don’t matter. Maybe those people don’t like what you have created, but there could be a hundred more people who will hear what you’ve got and absolutely love it.
Any upcoming projects/plans?
Zidane: My band, Impulse is planning to release a lot of music soon, so I’m definitely looking forward to and excited about that.
